A Nice Winter Stay at Tutukaka Holiday Home with awesome View! Weekend Away from Auckland.

Our Travel Story at Tutukaka:

We had planned this trip around August 2021 if my memory serves me right. We needed a break as we both were working full time, my elder daughter had just started school and the younger one had started going to pre school. So, we had decided a weekend away from the busy life and was looking for something peaceful and quite. While going though the listings in AirBnB we had chosen one listing as it seems to us that the place is quite and  has all the facilities that we are looking for. You can check some wonderful listing in Bookabach for Tutukaka.

We had stayed 2 nights at Tutukaka holiday home. We had started on Friday evening around 6pm, had a quick break at Wellsford. We had some snacks and coffee. It was a pleasant and wonderful stay at Tutukaka. The holiday home was wonderful, you can see the sunrise from the Holiday home, also from the video above you can realis the landscape is so beautiful.  You can see mountains and sea al together.

There were 2 horses at the property named Moly and Oak. My daughter was so excited to see the horses and was calling them by their name. The horses were friendly as well and whenever she was calling them by name, they were coming closer.

The house had wonderful breakfast facility. So, we had our breakfast sorted. We did not go for any sightseeing or had left the house for the whole day rather stayed home and enjoyed the scenery. If we go for a 2-3 hours tour, we always bring some cooked food for us which saves some cost and we also get the taste of home cooked food. For dinner we went to Whangarei as we thought this will be a good option for Dinner. We went to a Thai restaurant in Whangarei which is close to the Kensington hub and Z-Kensignton. We did like the food there. There are some Indian and Chinese option as well.

How long Does Tutukaka take from Auckland CBD:

It takes around 3 hours to reach Tutukaka from Auckland CBD. This place is quite close to Whangarei and only 30 minutes drive.

The best place to have a break is at Wellsford as it is in the middle of Auckland and Whangarei. Also, you will get a McDonalds and some other options if you want to have some food. There is a public toilet here as well.

Things to see near Tutukaka:

You can visit Tutukaka literally anytime of the year. There are some wonderful beaches near Tutukaka. We went to Whale Bay beach and Matapouri bay. Both were wonderful. There is a walkway from Matapouri bay. We did not get a chance to explore that one but we really liked both the beaches. Whale bay is awesome! Below are some pictures from our tour.
